Absolutely. If you only watch highlights, they may be even. Watch them every shift. MacKinnon brings it every single shift. McDavid waits for openings. MacKinnon either makes openings or forces his way right through obstacles. You want to win a skills competition, you draft McDavid. You want to win a game, you draft MacKinnon.

McDavid plays on average with RNH and some random 3rd winger grinder of Tippet's choosing , McKinnon plays with Landeskog and Rantanen

Better contract absolutely. Best in the NHL no question. Second best player though. McJesus is still better

McDavid waiting for openings scores more points than Mac forcing his way through so which is more effective? Both have their own strengths. McD just skates past, no need to force through.

McDavid is the more naturally gifted player, but MacKinnon is playing lights-out hockey right now. Playoff hockey requires and rewards more then just scoring, and I'm just seeing more overall impact in MacKinnon's game. If I'm building a franchise from scratch, sure I would take McDavid... if you're asking who I want in my lineup tonight in a must-win playoff game, I'm taking MacKinnon.

In my opinion yes but they are both so good. I just prefer the way Mackinnon plays but McDavid is amazing. Hard to choose. It's like picking Mario vs Gretzky

McDavid had 5g4a in 4 games this playoff. Unfortunately, it takes more than one player to elevate a team.

I love Mac, but you take McJesus all day, every day.

He is clearly #2 but McDavid is in his own world.

It also takes more than PP scoring, and ES scoring is where MacKinnon has straight-up outproduced McDavid this year - in both the regular season and playoffs. I'm certainly not suggesting McDavid isn't exceptional, and to each their own... but if I'm in a must-win playoff situation right now on Sept. 1, 2020, I'd rather have MacKinnon in my lineup.
